South Langley Youth (SLY) is likely the greatest thing you have ever heard of. We are a church-based Youth Group for Students in Grades 7-12. Many students from SLY attend South Langley Church, but just as many do not. We have 2 main programs. Jr. High for grades 7-10, and Sr. High for grades 9-12. We also run Sunday School during our Sunday Services, as well as have an awesome Mentoring program. Read on for more info on SLY!
Jr. High is most Friday nights for grades 7-10. These are often themed nights such as Gender Wars Night, Gross Games Night, Movie Making Night and tons of other awesome events. There is lots of energy and good times. If you're in grades 7-10, you're welcome to come out to any or all of our events. There are only a few events that we ask you to sign up for, so most nights you can just show up and bring a friend or 8. Jr. High is always crazy with wild games, crazy people and sweet discussions. You should be there. Events are almost always on Friday nights and run from 7-9pm. We usually hang out for about 30 minutes after events, but will toss you out if you're still there past 9:30pm.
Sr. High is even more awesome than Jr. High. We love to do super fun stuff. We try and have an adventure night at least once a month away from the church. We also do crazy games at the church and still manage to have a few TAG Nights each month (Talking About God). It's a lame name, but I'm open to better suggestions. Sr. High is for Grades 9-12 and we meet most Wednesadays. Events Run from 7-9pm, but you're welcome to stick around and hang out until 9:30pm, that's when we kick you out.

Grades 9 & 10 are our "Swing Years". For these 2 years we let students decide if they'd rather be in Jr. or Sr. High. If you prefere the anarchy of Jr. High, go there. If you'd rather have some deeper discussions and do a few more "mature" things, then come to Sr. High. And you you want, you're welcome to come to both.

Sunday School is for any Youth aged students who want to come. We aim to have Sunday School during 1/2 of our Sunday morning services throughout the year. We want students to be a part of the church service, but also love skipping it for Sunday School. This way we get both. In Fall, SS will happen most weeks in October and November. In the New year, SS will be most Sundays in January, March and May.

Mentoring is the newest and probably the coolest part of SLY. You'll have to check out the Mentor Tab at the top of the page for all the details, but's it's an exciting new venture to see Mentors and Mentees paired up so that Students can be Cared For, Listened To, and Challenged in their faith.
