I am SOOO stoked about this new part of SLY.

We are now taking applications for Mentors (the application is more of a Sign-Up).  You will be able to request a mentor until October 28.  Mentors and Mentees will be paired up sometime the following week.

We're doing this so students will have someone to Listen to, Care for, and Challenge them. 

Here's some general info about SLY Mentoring:

• All Mentors are SLY Sponsors.
• Mentors and Mentees will always be the same gender.
• There are a limited number of Mentors, so it is possible that not all students who ask for a mentor will be able to get one.
• All Mentess will need to have their parents permission (an information letter will go out to parents with an affirmation letter).
• All Mentors have gone through screening and training.
• Mentors will be known and reachable to parents.
• Mentors and Mentees will chat regurarly and hang out 1-2 times a month.  
• Mentors and students will talk about a wide range of topics.  These may include, but are not limited to the Canucks, Justin Bieber, God, Feelings, Fears, Skate Boarding, Friends, Guys, Girls, Music, Family, Hobbies, Food, iPhones, Dreams, and Marine Life. 
• Mentors are not substitute parents, but are unique individuals who we believe can have a positive impact on students lives.
• The formal Mentor/Mentee relationship is a one year commitment.
